Special Air Pressure Testing — Oxon

Special Air Pressure Testing — Oxon — a UK Building Compliance resource.

Air Tightness Testing
Special Air Pressure Testing — Oxon

The brief

  • We were instructed to complete a Special Air Pressure Test on a new-build passive house in Oxon
  • A passive house is built using materials and processes to ensure that the building is extremely energy efficient

The process

  • To take an Air Pressure Testing reading on a passive house, the building requires a pressurised test as well as a depressurised test and the average of the two scores is recorded, providing the final result
  • While this particular house had a passive house design, building control didn’t require a passive house Air Pressure Testing score of 0.6 and instead only required a target of 10 so to pass you must score lower than 10

The results
